Not your usual ceilidh band, our collective of heroic folk musicians, singers and ceilidh callers have honed our skills in back room pub sessions, with an emphasis on enjoyment.
With a repertoire of traditional tunes and songs from around the British Isles and beyond, our playing is fun, fearless and frenetic. We promise performances filled with the rawness and excitement of a live trad session where anything might happen.
Ceilidhs, Barn Dances and Dancing
The most fun you can have with your clothes on, let our experienced callers lead your party in a traditional ceilidh (barn dance). Teaching you some of the world’s favourite group and partner dances, we promise smiles and silliness to a superb live soundtrack.

With Scottish, Irish, English, Welsh and American repertoire we provide fun evenings of music and song for traditional celebrations all year round. Grab a table at The Conquering Hero pub’s popular Burn’s or St Patrick’s nights, or invite us to provide the soundtrack to your event.
Wednesday Night Pub Session
At our spiritual home, West Norwood’s Conquering Hero Pub, our regular Wednesday night session is almost as famous as the resident pub pig (and our mascot), Frances Bacon. Grab a pint and a table, and enjoy a foot-tapping evening of music. Do you play? We welcome confident players used to sharing traditional folk tunes.
Supporting our Community
We’re proud to support good causes in our South London community, and are pleased to offer our services to local charities and community groups free of charge where possible. We’ve loved playing for the West Norwood Feast, Crisis at Christmas, and the London Wildlife Trust’s Festival of the Great North Wood, to name a few, and we invite enquiries regarding playing at similar events.
